Fitness-Diva-Knows is your fitness advice and resource ‘Know-It-All’ (wink!), to guide you, the 'Diva', to a successful fitness and weight loss destination. She has over 20 years in fitness as a competitive amateur bodybuilder; aerobics instructor, aquatics exercise instructor, group fitness instructor and Personal Trainer. She is going to be your gabby and sometimes quirky
‘answer expert’
, similar to Ms. Manners
or Dear Abby. At times Fitness-Diva-Knows will let her own ‘Diva’ personality hang out while dispensing fitness and weight loss information and advice that’s exclusively for women.
Fitness-Diva-Knows is strong, confident, pushy-maybe-sometimes, with an 'all that' attitude. The presentation of the fitness information is with a little 'tongue in cheek' humor and presented in a clear, easy to digest manner. She is dedicated to
educate, motivate, support and inspire women to take charge of their health, fitness and general well being.
Hi, my name is Angela M. Hodges and I am “Fitness-Diva-Knows.” I truly enjoy my profession; I work with a very diverse group of people from different income levels, different cultural and ethnic backgrounds; and a wide range of ages from teens to
seniors. I enjoy helping people to change their bodies, become stronger and achieve active, healthier lifestyles. I feel that I have been blessed with the ability to help individuals learn about their bodies, empower them with more confidence and self
appreciation as they develop better exercise habits.
I hold Personal Trainer certifications through AFAA and AAAI. My love of movement and dance led me to seek certifications in
aerobics,
step, aqua, kick-box, kukuwa dance, and mat science. Certified personal trainers and group fitness instructors are required
to take related courses to stay current and I really, really enjoy the learning. But, most of all, I enjoy passing the knowledge on.
Over the many years of training and working in both co-ed and “women only” gyms (corporate, private, and non-profit) I observed a difference in the attitudes toward women’s fitness. I discovered how disadvantaged many women are in the exposure,
participation, and knowledge of fitness to live a truly healthy lifestyle.
We women have many responsibilities and we have a tendency to put ourselves last. I know from personal experience that maintaining a household, husband, child/children, and a job can hinder your efforts to attend to your own health and fitness.
My mission is to provide simple yet sound advice for losing weight, and to
coach
you to your goal of getting fit, and living healthily. Fitness-Diva-Knows wants to help women (and the men who love them - pass the info on, guys) to make the lifestyle changes that will help them feel good about their shape and feel strong and healthy.
As you navigate through the site you will discover the benefits of
strength training
and how effectively it can
improve your shape.
You will begin to understand how
aerobic exercise
helps to increase your endurance and why the combination of strength workouts and aerobics is essential for weight loss.
Like most women, you are probably super focused on
dieting.
You are looking for an uncomplicated yet effective nutrition tool or program to help you reach your weight loss goal. In Fitness-Diva-Knows you will have access to the tools and other
weight-loss tips
to help get you there.
With many years working with members and clients, I’ve accumulated a virtual library of
exercise
and
stretching
information to share with you. Check back often as I will add more info and routines as the site grows. If you are about to be a mom and want guidance with your
prenatal exercise
, there is information at your disposal as well as
postnatal fitness tips.
In addition to this site being a source of information and motivation for women, I offer a variety of services, such as
personal training
at Spa Lady, weight loss counseling and online nutrition coaching via the
‘contacts’ link.
Again, please watch the site for the expansion of the
fitness related merchandise.
And, finally, over the years, I have learned that women are very social, and readily learn from each others experiences.
Miss Fitness-Diva-Knows
has provided a link for you to
share your story.
Feel free to share your special success with weight loss, or
fitness, or acquiring healthy habits.
Yes… It's time to cultivate and celebrate the 'diva' in all of us.
